Reliquary, 2019

Reliquary 1986–2025, an installation made of documents and images of photographs recovered from the family archive, which the artist arranges as an aesthetic-poetic device in order to generate open dialogue between the elements of the artwork: handwritten text producing a direct transcription of the archive, a list of the names of the films watched, annotated and arranged by date; punctuated by a series of photographic images detailing the timeline and the life journey of Montserrat Borés. This piece opens up intimate universes that invite dialogue with the viewer, about what is apparent that cannot be seen through an image, revealing imaginaries and possible avenues of escape from the ordinary.
